Why does magnesium have a low ignition temperature?

Due to the ease for which the Mg is simply able to make the MgO when Mg is being reacted with O2.
Hence the reaction goes like:
2Mg  + O2    =========>>>     2MgO
The Mg has last 2 electrons if removed would achieve the noble gas confi. and therefore having low ignition temperature it tends to do that.
