hey student..
the hydrated water molecles of copper in copper sulfate solution are of two different types. four of them are a kind of in the plane of paper and the two of them are perpendicular to the plane of paper. now since copper is having d9 configuration, so it is gonna follow the jahn teller distortion and thus distinguishing the water molecules.
