why does barium take some time to give flame test even though it has low ionisation potential

This is due to the increasing in size of the elements as going down the group in the periodic table the nuclear charge gets hindered and also the elctrons in the outer shells gets shielded off as incrasing the number of shells.
Therefore,  barium take some time to give flame test even though it has low ionisation potential.
