why chromate is acid sensetive in chromate and dichromate equilibrium

This is due to the Le-Chatlier’s Principle of chemcal eqns being followed.
Any small change too leads a change in shifting of the equlibrium towards right or left and hence the color gets changed and hecne is acid sensitive. WIth di-chromate it is in equlibrium due to the equal concentraion of H+ ions in soln.
