While learning physical properties of alkyl halide (boiling point ) we come through london force but it is for non polar molecules like He and alkyl halides are polar why so? ?

london force and dipole dipole interaction are two different types of intermolecular force .in alkyl halide dipole dipole interaction and vanderwaal forces occur which make intermolecular force of attraction stronger.so i think here london does not act as alkyl halide is polar molecule

When we dissolve alkyl halide in water, the energy required to break the R-X bond is greater than the hydration energy released. We come to know that although R-X bond is polar but the alkylhalides are non polar in nature. Thus we talk of london forces in case of alkylhalides.
