We know that the rydberg equation is :-

The last line of any series is the line of shortest wavelength.
Putting the values of R = 109678 cm, Z= 1, n1 = 1, n2 =\infty
= 109678*12*(1/12 – 1/\infty2)
= 109678 cm
Thus wavelength = 1/109678 =9.1 *10-6cm
