in a periodic tqble
for s block element
basic strength of hydroxide increase down the group
MH + H20----M(0H) + H2
across the period it decrease reason --increase in electronegativity
in p block element across the group it also decrease as acidity increase due to large difference in the size of ion and hydrogen
xe and kr also form hydride .
