The substrate for lipase enzyme is lipids. Lipase is a protein (enzyme) released by the pancreas into the small intestine. A lipase is an enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of emulsified fats (lipids) into fatty acids and glycerol.

Proteins are substrates for pepsin and trypsin enzymes. Carbohydrates such as starch act as substrate for salivary amylase.Nucleic acids are substrates for nucleases
