Hybridization of Co is d2sp3 because it involves 2d, 1s, 3p orbitals and it is a diamagnetic complex because there is no unpaired electron in it.

Since the pairing energy of d block elements is inversely proportiinal with the oxidation state of metal, therefore Co(+4) makes the electrons forced to pair and it is low spin octahedral complex with d2sp3 hybridization. As well as the UV VISIBLE absorption maximum are lying at shorter wavelengths (600-450) nm compared with CoF6 3- which is green colored ion with absorption at red region 730 nm
