Concentration refers to the amount of dissolved substance (called the solute) in a dissolving material (called the solvent.) The more solute, the more 'concentrated' the solution. The opposite of concentrated is 'dilute', which of course means there is relatively little solute in the solution.

A dilute solution contains a smaller amount of solute than does a concentrated solution . a dilute solution contains more solvent than an equal volume of concentrated solution does. Stomach acid is a dilute solution of hydrochloric acid.
