what is Solution pressure and osmotic pressure
as in a daniel cell Copper has greater osmotic pressure,so it has tendency to pass electrons into the solution and ions at an electrode. and Solution pressure of zinc is greater ,hence it has tendency to pass positive ions into the solution and electrons at an electrode

The osmotic pressure of a solution is the pressure difference needed to stop the flow of solvent across a semipermeable membrane. The osmotic pressure of a solution is proportional to the molar concentration of the solute particles in solution.

The solution pressure and osmotic pressure are the properties of the electrode and electrolytic solution defined by Nernst which gives us the conversion of metal to metal ion(oxidation/de-electronation/reaction in anode) or metal ion to metal(reduction/electronation/reaction in cathode),it mainly depends on the metal reactivity series in which if the metal is taken below the series then it have a tendency to behave like cathode and if it remains at higher position then it will behave like an anode,it depends on their relative position on metal reactivity serie.
