radius of ion and closely bounded water molecules are called as hydrated radii or hydrated radius . 
ions larger in size and with low charges bind water molecules less tightly and have smaller hydrated radius than small ions with high charge . 
ionic radius increases from top to bottom and the hydrated radius,,decreases from top to bottom..
