The reverse of disproportionation is comproportionation. In a comproportionation reaction, two species with the same element in two different oxidationstates form single product. The element in the product is in an intermediate oxidation state, between that in reactants.

Comproportionation or symproportionation is a chemical reaction where two reactants, each containing the same element but with a different oxidation number, will form a product in which the elements involved reach the same oxidation number.
