what happens to the O-N bond down the group for thermal stability

The thermal stability increases as you go down Group 2. This is because the Group 2 ion has lower charge density, and thus distorts the carbonate ion less

Dear student 
Group 2 nitrates also become more thermally stable down the group.Down the group, the nitrates must also be heated more strongly before they will decompose.
