On dissolution a large no. of gold particles agitate.Thus the size of the finest gold sol particles increases in the gold.A large no. of gold atoms aggregate together to form species having size in the colloidal range(1-1000nm)

Due to incresse in the size of the Gold particles the particles now scatter light of Greater wavelength.
Due to this the gold sol appears to be red in colour
