Dear Shweta

Please ask one question in one thread.

Quick lime (CaO) is heated with silica (SiO2) to give calcium silicate called as slag.

When sodium metal is placed in water a vigorous reaction takes place with the formation of sodium hydroxide and hydrogen .The reaction is so vigorous that hydrogen produces catches fire . And. When quicklime reacts with silica it forms calcium silicate
