Molecular weight of volatile chloride = 2*95

= 190

Formula of chloride = MClx

Approximate weight of M = 6.4/0.13

= 49.23

Let valency of M be x.

Formula of MClx = 49.23 + x * 35.5

= 190

x = 140.77/35.5

= 3.96 = 4

Therefore, equivalents weight = 49.23/4

 =12.3

Therefore equivalent weight = 49.23/4 = 12.3
