to measure covalent radius it is necessary that element must combined in covalent bond if metals dont combine in covalent form then how is it possible to calculate covalent radius in the case of metals??

Dear student..
In case of metals we don't calculate covalent radius , we calculate metallic radius.
Metallic radius is half of the distance between two adjacent metal ions in metallic lattice.
