(B) P4 + 3O2 ?N2 P4O6 (exclusively) (N2 is used to retard the further oxidation.)

Hello Student

Phosphorus trioxide (P4O6) is prepared by heating phosphorus in the limited supply of oxygen and nitrogen.

N2prevents further oxidation of P4O6 to P4O10.

So option B is correct.

I hope this answer will help you.

Dear student,
Please find the attached answer to your question.

Phosphorus trioxide (P4O6) is prepared by heating phosphorus in the limited supply of oxygen and nitrogen. The nitrogen acts as a retarder and prevents the formation of P4O10
P4 + 3O2 + N2 → P4O6 + N2
(N2 acts as a retarder)
Hence option B) is correct.

Hope it helps.
Thanks and regards,
Kushagra
