It is a p–block element since the last electron occupies the p–orbital.

There are three electrons in the p–orbital. Thus, the corresponding group of the element

 

for n = 3, it will be in 15th group

For p block elements the outermost shell configuration is ns^x np^y
For p block group number is (x+y+10).
Therefore group number for ns^2 np^3 is 3+2+10=15
