75 ppm CaSO4 means 75g of CaSO4 is present in 106 g of water sample.
One can now use the unitary method to find the answer

degree of hardness=(w(mg)/M.Wt) * (100/Wt. of water (kg) )
 
75=(w(mg)/120)*100/5 
 
w=450mg=0.45g
