The solution evaporates and sodium nitrate solid is left. It is a white solid which immediately starts melting to a clear liquid, then on strong heating it begins to bubble giving off oxygen gas and eventually leaving sodium nitrite which solidifies as a white solid again.

2NaNO3 ---> 2NaNO2 + O2

At about 500•C it gives NaNO2 and O2 but at 800•C it gives Na2O and N2 and O2. Its a prviously asked iit jee question.
