rate of the reaction is given by =k[SO2]^2[O2]
if the presuure is increased 3 times then partial pressure of SO2 is 9p^2
partial pressure of O2=p^2
now the rate of the reaction is 9p^2*p^2=27p^3

thus the rate increases 27 times
