hybridisation can be defined as the mixing of atomic orbital belonging to the same atom but having slightly diffrent energy , so that the same no of new orbital will formed which have equivalent energy and identical shape .
these new orbitals are called as hybridised orbital .
depending upon the combination of atomic orbital hybridisation are of following types .
that is sp2 , dsp and sp
sp – one s and one p orbital , having a bond angle of 180 degree and linear shape molecules , and the percentage of charecter are 50 percent .
sp2 = one s and two p orbital , bond angle is 120 degree and triangular planaer shape .
sp3 = one s and 3 p orbital will combine .
bond angle having 109 degree and 28 minute . shape is tetrahedral .
AND YES , THEY ARE VERY MUCH IMP FOR JEE MAIN AND ADVANCED , WITHOUT THAT U CANNOT UNDERSTAND P BLOCK , AND COORDINATION COMPOUND IN 12TH .
ALL THE BEST ..
