There are 3 types of organometallic compounds based on metal-carbon bond,1)sigma-bonded 2)pie bonded & 3) sigma & pie bonded.The 3rd type is called metal carbonyls.So,metal carbonyls are a type of organometallic compounds but every organometallic compound is not metal carbonyl.Hope its clear.
