Sir,
   Boric Acid/orthoboric acid is H3BO3 or B(OH)3.It is monobasic and a weak acid.It doesn’t liberate hydrogen ion but accepts hydroxyl ion from water and thus behaves as a lewis acid.Thus,It indirectly contributes to the formation of hydrogen ion.
H3BO3  + H2O ---->H+  +B(OH)4-

It is not a protic acid because it does not ionize in H20 to give proton. It acts as a Lewis acid by accepting electrons from a hydroxyl ion of water and in turn release H+ ion.
