As we go down the group, the atom gets bigger. The bigger the atom, the further away the last electron. Therefore, the attraction between the nucleus and the last electron gets weaker. This makes it easier for the atom to give up the electron which increases its reactivity

For Metals (s-block) reactivity is defined as their ability/ease with which they release electrons. Whereas for non-metals (p-block) reactivity is the ease of acceptance of electrons. Hence energy required to remove ns electron decreases down the group. i.e. Ionization energy decreases down the group.
