In redox reaction we often deal with acids like H2S2O8,H2S2O7,H2SO5. My problem is that how to find out the oxidation state of sulphur in each of these. oxidation state of the sulphur =7 next one 6, next one 8H2S2O8,H2S2O7,H2SO5 the oxidation state of the sulphur in each cpmpound in first one the explanation of answers is first you know the oxidation state of each element that is H=1, O=-2, =0then solve it nowH2S2O8= 2(1)+2(x)+8(-2) then x= 7 where x is the oxidation state of sulphar in that compound like that you solve it.thank you
