If a reaction is taken in excess what will be the order of reaction w.r.t that reactant

The answer is very simple.If any reactant is taken in excess then order of reaction with respect to that reactant is zero because as reaction proceed the excess reagent suffer small change in it conc.For eg.in ester hydrolysis reaction the order of reaction w.r .t H2O is zero

Since the reaction is in excess amount so it may be a pseudo-order reaction. As we know that when amount is in excess amount, the order is pseudo.
