I`ve studied somewhere that reducing nature of metals is directly related to their metallic character, and metallic character increases down the group then accordingly Cs should be the strongest reducing agent. But my book is telling that, Li is the strongest reducing agent in aqueous medium. Pls explain..

Here there is difference between normal element and metal in aqueous medium....aqueous medium means in water...then LiOH is formed...it acts as reducing agent that is, it can give H because of small size of Li and repulsions in between them....
