I am finding difficulty while going through coordination compound  please tell me what basics of inorganic chemistry i should know before i start coordination compound?

frst of all u should be clear about the chemical bonding chapter , the crystall theory , VBT and all . 
then go with the p block elements as d-d transition are there in coordination compound . 
and then start coordination compound and practice the nomenclture part very carefully
