how should i learn the p block and d block element lessons . what should be the pattern for effective learning ?

Go through NCERT.There is precise information about these chapters which is enough from both boards as well as JEE MAINS point of view.
Both general physical and chemical properties of various groups and periods are important where emphasis should be laid upon reasons of the particular trend.
Exceptions should always be remembered by heart because these are always the hit points.
Go through main compounds of p block and d-block like KMnO4, K2Cr2O7, NH3 ,oxides of P,S,Cl etc.
