NH3 is made up by non metallic elememnts of atoms but it exibits basic nature when it undergoes hydrolysis

Dear student 
when NH3 undergo hydrolysis this will happen 
NH3 + H2O  ----  NH4+ + OH-
NH4+ is acidic according to Bronsted-Lowry Theory because it can give away one proton to other species (like water or hydroxide ion).
