Separate them into half reactions foirst and then balce it.
 
Zn    ------>          Zn 2+                 +               2e-
AND
NO3-     ------>      NH4+         +       3H2O
NO3-   +   10H+       +8e-         ------>      NH4+         +       3H2O
In order to cancel the electrons add the Zn and NO3- chemical eqns. in such way that they get cancelled.
