HELLO ABHUSHEK,
Total energy needed to convert one Mg atom into Mg2+ gas ion = IE1 + IE2
= 7.646 + 15.035
= 22.681 eV
=> 2188.6Kj/mol
12 mg of Mg = 0.5 X 10^-3 mol
therefore,
total energy = 0.5 X 10^-3 X 2188.6
= 1.0943Kj
