The second ionisation enthalpy of group 16th elements is greater than that of group 17th. The size of 16th group elements is large than 17th group elements. 16th group Elements are less elecrtonegative than 17th group elements. And in diagonal relationships 1st member of group 16th have some properties similar to that of second member of group 17th.
