Dear Kumaresan,
                    The molecules are exhibit the colour due to presence of unpaired elctrons or vacant orbitals.In Cu2+ there are vacant orbital so it shows blue colour.But in CuO E.N of O is dominating the positive charge on Cu.Thank you.
