Alkenes , when treated with diborane gives, alkylboranes and alkylboranes on the oxidation with alkaline Hydrogen peroxide gives alcohols.
For propene , Machenism is :
6CH₃CH=CH₂ + (BH₃)₂ ----> 2(CH₃CH₂CH₂)₃B + H₂O₂/OH⁻ ---->6CH₃CH₂CH₂OH { 1 - PROPANOL }
