A hydrogen like atom of atomic number Z is in an excited state of quantum number 2n. It can emit a maximum energy photon of 204eV.If it makes a transition to quantum state n, a photon of energy 40.8 eV is emitted. What is the initial excited state of the atom? What is the value of Z?

Use hc/k = Rz^2(1/n1^2 – 1/n2^2) for n to 2 state
and again 
for n to 3 state and solve those 2 eqns. simply.
