A gas cylinder contains 370g of O2 at 30 atm and 25`C. What mass of O2 would escape if first the cylinder was heated to 75`c and then the valve were held open until the gas pressure was 1atm, the temperature being maintained at 75`c?

V1 = V2 cuz since you are using a gas cylinder, which is a rigid container, the volume won't change
n1 = 370 g x 1mole / 32.0 g = 11.56 g
T1 = 25 C = 298 K
P1 = 30.0 atm
n2 = ?
T2 = 75 C = 348 K
P2 = 1.00 atm
R = 0.0821 L x atm / k x mole

First find the volume of the container using the Ideal Gas Law

P1V1 = n1RT1
V1 = n1RT1 / P1
V1 = 11.56 mole x (0.0821 L x atm / k x mole) x 298k /30.0 atm
V1 = 9.43L

Now find the number of mole in enviroment 2:
P2V2 = n2RT2
n2 = P2V2 / RT2
n2 = 1.00 atm x 9.43L / ( ( 0.0821 L x atm / k x mole) x 348k)
n2 = 0.330 mole

n escaped = n1 - n2
n escaped = 11.56 mole - 0.330 mole
n escaped = 11.23 mole

g escaped = 11.23 mole x 32.0 g / 1 mole
g escaped = 359g .
