sp2orbitals.Becausr MX3 molecule means it has 3bonds.so,to have a 0resultant dipole moment 3bonds are to be arrangedvectors so as to give 0dpmomnt. acc. to the triangle law of ele

Sp2 hybridised as 3 molecules are present in MX3 molecule. So according to vector triangle law these 3 bonds must be arranged to have a zero dipole moment.

Think MX3 as BF3. the hybridisation in BF3 is sp2.so the answer is sp2.and also its shape is trigonal planner.

Dipole moment is vector quantity
In trigonal planar geometry (for sp2 hybridisation ), the vector sum of two bond moments is equel and opposite to the dipole moment of third bond
