In PH5 phosphorous bears -5 charge dute to 5 hydrogens, which isnot possible.

PCl5 can exist but PH5 cannot because as we know that P has electron in its d orbital and to pair it P overlap with the p orbital of chlorine which can''t be possible with s orbitals of hydrogen atom. Smile
