1.Atomic Number of some of the elements are given below. A B C D 14 11 3 9 Arrange them in the increasing order of their atomic size and justify your answer. 2. Two elements A & D have 1 and 7 electrons respectively in their valence shell. a) What type of ion is formed by these elements? b) Identify the elements which is present to the right of the element in the second period? How many valence electrons are present in this element?

A - Si

B -Na

C -Li

D -F

since in group atomic size increases and in period decreases therfore B>A>C>D

A has 1 valence electron hence it tends to lose one electron and acquires  positive charge B has 7 valence electrons hence it tends to gain 1 electron and acquires negative charge.

A is  cation  D is anion

i cant understand your 2 b question
