why the ability to form complexes for the transition elements is much greater than that of the s-block & p-block elements?

The Transition Elements have higher tendency to form complexes than s & p-block elements becasue of the presence of

1.The High Ionic Charges

2.Small size of the transition metal ions

3.Presence of a large number of d-orbitals for bond formation
