Dear Raj,

ionic,covalent,coordinate and hydrogen bonds

ionic in formation of CuSO4 and covalent in SO4 ion...
coordinate in SO4 with CuSO4 and H-bonding due to presence of O.

Remember CuSO4 is ionic compound but when it is hydrated, 5 molecules are also attached to it, Leading to formation of hydrogen bond with one of the water molecule. Other four are Coordinated.

* Structure of CuSO4.5H2O in the solid state is shown below. The Cu2+ ions are attracted towards SO42-ions not only by ionic interactions (electrovalent) but also by coordinate covalent bonds. The Cu2+ ions form coordinate covalent bonds with water as well as sulfate ions.

There are covalent bonds in water and sulfate ions.

There is also hydrogen bonding between water and sulfate ions. Only four water molecules are forming dative bonds with Cu2+. The fifth molecules is involved in H-bonding.

Dear student,
Please find the attached answer to your problem.

The bonds involved are
  1.  Ionic in formation of CuSO4 (between Cu2+ and SO42-)
  2. Covalent in SO4 ion (between S and O atoms)
  3. Coordinate in SO4 with CuSO4
  4. H-bonding due to presence of O. (Between water and sulphate ions)
Hope it helps.
Thanks and regards,
Kushagra
