Since X is trivalent and Oxygen is divalent therefore
Elements X O
Valency 3 2
By cross-multiplication we get X2O3.

Therefore
The elements x and oxygen will exchange their radicals 
Valency of x and o - 3;2
So by cross multiplication 
We get x2 y3
