0.501 g of Silver was dissloved in HNO3 and HCl was added to this Solution. AgCl so formed weights 0.6655g. If Equivalent weight of Chlorine is 35.5, what will be the Equivalent weight of Ag?

By the law of equivalent concept the equivalent of all reacting sbstances and product are equal.

Equivalent of Ag = Equivalent of Cl
Weight of Ag /Eq. weiht of Ag = Weight of Cl / Eq. weight of cl     …...........1

143.5 g AgCl = 108 g Ag
0.665 g AgCl = 0.5g
so, remaining will be cl = 0.665 – 0.5
Weight of Cl= 0.1655g
Put all the value in the first equation
Equivalent weight of Ag = 108
Hope this helps.
