The latest Times of India news on 14/12/14 titled “IITs out of bounds for students born abroad“ appears to be incorrect and unresearched.PIOs and OCIs are on par with NRIs in Education rights, so they can’t be barred from appearing for JEE Main. What is right is, PIO/OCIs cannot take admission to NITs/IIITs/CFIs other IITs through JEE Main channel, they have to go through DASA. However, if PIO?OCIs clear JEE Advanced as well, they can apply to IITs and other CFIs which also require JEE Advanced Scores. -Anant
