the increase in the speed of a car is proportional to the additional petrol put into the engine. Is it possible to accelerate a car without putting more/less petrol into engine?

Yes there are possibilities.If brakes are applied then due to friction heat is produced we can covert this heat to start the car.
there are many more technics.

yes by reducing weight (i.e if there is sand you can leak out sand through it ) during journey a thrust force will generate which will provide acceleration.

it is possible to accelerate a car without putting more or less petrol into the engine by driving the car in normal speed (like 40-60 km/h)
