sir, if a person gettng rank 150 puts iit bombay cse as its 1 st preference....and if a person geting 100 rank gives its 2nd preference as iit bombay cse...and suppose that iit bombay has 1 place to offer anyone of them...who will be offered? thank you.

Hi Souraj,
If a person getting 100 rank does not get his first preference, then he will be offered IIT B, otherwise he will get his 1stpreference & someone else will get IIT B.

The allotment is done in serial order of rank. Air 1,2,3...100,101,102.. First the air 100 will be considered , if he does not get his first priority then he will get his second , then the third choice and so on . Then the allotment will move to air 101. So in your example .. Air 100 will get cse .
